Safe Births Initiative

LaPQC Safe Births Initiative

The Safe Births Initiative was launched in 2021 as a vehicle for continued work related to hemorrhage and hypertension and new efforts to reduce Louisiana’s first time, low-risk cesarean delivery rate. Shifting to a long-term model like The Gift, the Safe Births Initiative now serves as a home for AIM patient safety bundle implementation, and as well as the LaPQC’s quality improvement work relative to recommendations generated by Louisiana’s Pregnancy Associated Mortality Review, as well as other important perinatal outcomes. As such, the Safe Births Initiative also is an important home for sustaining and spreading quality improvement gains made by QI teams.
